Day 2 of my journey into the woods consisted of a trip to Cox Arboretum. Cox Arboretum is a metro park located in the Kettering Area that houses wildlife and many types of plants. We made our way down to Cox with a task that needed to be complete- a scavenger hunt that allowed us to explore the park fully. On that hunt, we needed to climb a tower, try edible plants, and much more. My group and I were excited to complete the hunt and got started right away.

First, we headed to see some wildflowers. Similar to yesterday, I decided to take close-up pictures of the flowers I saw. I was able to gaze upon flowers and plants I do not normally see, and this helped me already start to relax and explore what was new. Soon after, we headed to the butterfly area. It was basically a screened-in area with butterflies and moths inside. Similar to the flowers, I was able to see a new type of moth that I have never seen before. Later on, we headed up to the tree tower. On our way up we had to tackle many flights of stairs, but the view was worth it. When I was up there and able to see the land beyond the park; I felt very at peace. While I was a little nervous to drop something of mine, I still took in the view with wide-eyes. As we headed down the stairs, I contemplated if that was what it meant to live deliberately. To live and feel truly at peace.
As the day went on, I was also able to observe many parts of wildlife. While the birds and fish were bountiful in number, I also got to see a dragonfly that had seemed stuck. So, I picked it up and let it go. Before it went though, I did snap a few pictures.

Overall, I was really able to observe nature in its fullest today. I felt very relaxed and happy when my friends as we traveled through the park. I think that if more people visited places like Cox Arboretum, they would be able to live, based on my definition, more deliberately. I am excited to visit more places and be able to experience nature more fully.
